Simon Victor Linsteadt is a composer and artist based in Los Angeles.

He has been composing music for This American Life since 2021, and is a sound designer and mixer for the podcast Hidden Brain. He has created music and sound design/sonic logos for brands including GQ, The New York Times, and Ray Ban through his commercial studio Ionic Order.

His composition work for performance art has premiered at venues including Z Space Theater, Arts on Site NYC, Fort Mason San Francisco Aerial Festival, and California Institute of the Arts.

Linsteadt began his career touring and making albums as a singer-songwriter and the frontman of Bay Area bluegrass band Steep Ravine. The band gave hundreds of performances throughout the US, most notably at The Fillmore, The Great American Music Hall, Strawberry Music Festival, and The Freight and Salvage.
