Simon Victor Linsteadt is a composer, multi-instrumentalist, and sound designer based in Los Angeles. He has been composing music for This American Life since 2021, and is a sound designer for the podcast Hidden Brain.

His composition work for theater and dance has premiered at venues including Z Space Theater, Arts on Site NYC, Fort Mason San Francisco Aerial Festival, and California Institute of the Arts.

He has composed music and created sound design/sonic logos for brands through his company Ionic Order. His TV scoring credits include ABC 20/20 and What Would You Do?

Linsteadt began his career touring and making albums as a singer-songwriter and the frontman of Bay Area bluegrass band Steep Ravine. The band gave hundreds of performances throughout the US, most notably at The Fillmore, The Great American Music Hall, Strawberry Music Festival, and The Freight and Salvage.
